28 Things I’ve Learnt in 28 Years

28 Things I've Learnt -2Yes, as you can tell from the title I just turned 28 years old and I have been feeling lots of mixed emotions about it! My Birthday was yesterday 1st of April, yip an April fool baby right here. Wow, 28?  it still hasn’t sunk in and I feel quite strange about it. Today I thought I would share 28 Things I’ve Learnt in 28 Years. I’ve learnt so much in my 28 years of existence.

I’m going to keep this as short as I can, I know it’s quite a lot of points I will be mentioning.

28 Things I've Learnt -1

  1. Nothing comes easy.
  2. Family is everything, so make more time for them.
  3. Hate parties.
  4. Watch what you eat.
  5. Life gets hard to deal at times.
  6. Money Isn’t everything but will help with bills
  7. Oh, so many bills!
  8. Smaller things in life matter.
  9. I enjoy lazy days more.
  10. Not to mix your whites and coloured laundry.
  11. Baking is fun and makes me happy.
  12. Finding what makes you happy and stick with it.
  13. Finding a soul mate is possible.
  14. Time goes by so quick.
  15. Friends come and go.
  16. Health is important, so make sure you take care of yourself.
  17. Comparison is evil, I’ve learnt not to compare myself and be content with what I have.
  18. Date nights are important. Justin and I are getting married but date nights are crucial, especially with both of us working and being so tired when we get home.
  19. Take time for yourself.
  20. Try to worry less.
  21. Kindness can change the world around you.
  22. Coffee is your bestie!
  23. Don’t forget to remove your makeup before you get to bed!
  24. Save, save, save…
  25. Get rid of clutter. Like the saying cluttered closet = cluttered mind.
  26. Be genuine and authentic.
  27. Don’t be scared to ask for help when you need it.
  28. Immediately interrupt negative, toxic thoughts with positivity.

Gosh! I have to admit listing all of these took me to another level of thought! I think that what freaks me out the most is that big 30 is closer… I’m also so grateful for how good my life is right now. I have my own little family and a fiancé who loves me deeply and treats me like a Queen. With so much happening this year I am excited to take it on with my best friend by my side.

Happy belated birthday love. May you see many more beautiful years and may you hold this list close to your heart as you age because it’s what’s important in life, especially a happy life. Ps. Don’t freak out about the big 30. I turned 30 in December and the only thing that has changed is my way of thinking. I’m learning to wake up everyday with a grateful heart, I complain less because I’ve realised that there’s a solution for every problem so why get stressed about it and I try my best to detach myself from negativity.

Getting rid of clutter is something I still struggle with! Maybe I just need a bigger house? Haha.

Happy belated birthday! This is such a good idea, I might do it for my next birthday. And don’t worry about the big 30 – it isn’t as scary as it’s made out to be. 😉 xx
