You’ve all been there! Stuck in a rut and struggling to get motivated especially during this COVID pandemic. Today I will share 5 Ways To Stay Motivated that has helped me during these tough times.
I know, easier said than done. I’ve been lucky enough to be in a possession where my company has been remote-first working for the last year. I have had ample time to see what works for me.
Kickstart your day
Try to wake up at a reasonable time. To this day I still set an alarm in the morning and get up around the same time every day even on weekends. The last thing I want is to mess up my sleeping patterns. Muggles my pug has also been a good second alarm. He also wakes me up every morning like clockwork if I dare to snooze that alarm.
Designated workspace
At first, it was all fun being able to work from the couch or the bed. I soon realised that this was not ideal nor comfortable in the long run. Because my husband and I both work from home, we, unfortunately, cannot share the office. So we set up my workspace in our lounge which has been life-changing. Getting up in the morning and having my workspace has given me more motivation.

Have a daily to-do list
In the morning before I get my day started I usually jot down the important points I want to accomplish for the day. I also use Asana to help me keep track of all my important tasks. Having it visualised, helps me stick to it – there’s nothing more satisfying than ticking my tasks as completed.
Create a routine
For the most part, I have a routine which I adhere to. It gets me more motivated. I like doing things at a certain time it also helps me maximise my schedule so that I can get through everything I need to for the day.
Take a break
It’s so easy to get lost in work. The one thing I struggle with is making time to take a break from the screen. Taking a break or two is vital! It’s important to take time for yourself too.
