South Africa is still currently in lockdown and it appears that it will be that way for a while. The stress of lockdown and everything that comes with it has severely taken a strain on my skin. I have suffered more breakouts and discomfort during these last few months than ever before. I thought I would share my Current Lockdown Skincare Routine.
I’ve been battling with my skin of late. I have been trying a variation of products to see what works best.

Current Lockdown Skincare Routine
Morning Routine
My skin has been dehydrated, and the cold weather might be contributing to this and the added stress. I’m usually in such a rush in the mornings, and there’s no time to faff around. I usually roll out of bed and straight into my first meeting every morning. Abusing the fact that I get to work from home and take advantage of the extra sleep, which has been a blessing. I quickly cleanse my skin with micellar water. And use a pump or two of the Elizabeth Arden Great Eight, which I swear by! It protects the skin against the elements and has SPF. I have mostly been staying clear of makeup. Mainly, now that I work from home and not really on any video calls, my skin has been enjoying the break from makeup.
Evening Routine
During the evening when I have more time to spend on my skin, after dinner before preparing for bed. On some nights I want to indulge in a face mask. I have been enjoying the Alma K Clay Face Mask. Elizabeth Arden Retinol Capsules are my go-to night serums. I have been using it for months and its most certainly helped improve the look and feel of my skin. For night cream I have been using the Alma K Nourishing Night Cream for extra nourishment.
