Adding a custom signature gives your blog posts a more personal touch. Since updating my WordPress Theme from Plugin to 17th Avenue, this was one for the customisations I missed. Not to fear, Plugins are here! This tutorial will teach you How To Add Customer Signature To Your Blog Posts on WordPress.
With so many plugin options, it can all be overwhelming at times. I feel your pain, and I’m here to share my knowledge with you.
Candice, what is this miracle plugin you speak of? Well, I’ll be sharing that in a bit. Firstly, you want to make sure you have a nifty image you want to display as your signature.
Tools like Canva and Over are brilliant ways to create your signature, this is totally up to you. If you have a white background you can get away with not needing a transparent image, if not no stress. You can simply create your signature within Over, they allow you to add text on a transparent background – they cool like that!
Once you have your image ready to go, now it’s time to get that plugin installed.
WordPress has a few options… When downloading any plugin in WordPress you want to make sure you take note of these 5 points.
- The number of users who downloaded the plugin.
- The number of active users using it.
- The rating.
- When last the plugin was updated. Believe me, the last thing you want is to install a plugin that was updated 10 years ago, chances are its not compatible with the version of WordPress. Which brings me to the last point.
- Check to see if the plugin is compatible with the version of WordPress you are running.
If you are running Genesis then you can download a plugin called Genesis Club Lite. This is the one I use… To add the plugin go to your WordPress Dashboard – Plugins – Add New – in the search bar type Genesis Club Lite and Activate.
Once activated go to Users – Edit your user – scroll to the button and boom! You have an option to upload your signature image and SAVE. You can also download WP Post Signature.
