Essence Instant Volume Boost Mascara

Essence Instant Volume Boost Mascara -1

I was in desperate need of a new mascara. For some reason, I have been going through them so fast. Whilst walking through Dischem, I came across the Essence Instant Volume Boost Mascara. I actually haven’t tried this one before and was curious to see how it fairs against my trusty Essence Lash Princess Mascara.

I have always used the Essence Lash Princess Mascara, but I wanted to try something new from Essence. You guys know how much I love Essence, I just really respect the fact that they are continuously bringing out new collections. They are super affordable too!

Essence Instant Volume Boost Mascara -2

Essence says: “The intensive black mascara allows maximum lash volume thanks to the volume brush. Which consists of innovative flower-shaped fibers. an application takes just ten seconds.”

Straight off the bat, I noticed that the wand is rather different than the Lash Princess Mascara from Essence. I wasn’t too sure if I was going to like it. I tried it anyway because I spent money on it and no way in hell I was going to throw it away.

It does seem to “volume boost” my lashes ever so slightly. Nothing major I would go gaga over. I didn’t like that it just picks up so much product! I always found myself having to place some of it back. Leaving so much product outside rather than inside the tube. Not sure how hygienic that is. It does clump some of your lashes too. I don’t mind the slight clumping it does give a really nice volume look to the lashes.

For an everyday mascara, this will be a lovely option. It gives you voluminous lashes and it doesn’t flake and smudge. Do I prefer this over my Essence Lash Princess Mascara? Not really, I will still be repurchasing my trusty Essence Lash Princess Mascara.

Essence Instant Volume Boost Mascara before? How did you find it?

Essence has released some new mascaras and I was tempted to buy one or two the other day but I didn’t since I have a few open that I need to finish first. I hate when brush picks too much product.

Love your minimalistic photos and that wooden tray is gorg!! I don’t (think) we have Essence over here in the UK alrhough I may be wrong. It’s a shame it clumped as the brush looks as though that wouldn’t be the case. I purchased a new mascara to try to actually. It’s a Rimmel one so I’m hoping it’s a good’en.

I’m so tempted to just buy every mascara Essence has and see which ones I love and which ones I don’t. I luckily have naturally long lashes so mascaras just take it to another level and I have so many from the drugstore I love. Essence really is an awesome brand. x

I don’t like mascara that picks up way too much product too! Guess I’ll have to avoid this one when my current one runs out! HAHA

it’s soooo annoying when mascaras pick up way too much product! It’s got something to do with the thingie that’s supposed to hold back the product. I had that with one of my favourite concealers once, I think it was just a faulty tube. It doesn’t mean every other tube is going to do that, might just have slipped in a mistake in the factory 😉 but it’s good to know you like the formula of this mascara!
