Making The Perfect Pina Colada

Making The Perfect Pina Colada -1

Holidays and cocktails are just a match made in heaven. My husband and I decided to try out making our own cocktails over the holidays and to my surprise it was easier then I thought. I thought I would share the recipe with you guys on Making The Perfect Pina Colada at home.

Now, we have also made our own Mojito, but with Summer here we wanted to try something different and my husband came up with the idea why not try making our own Pina Colada.

What you will need

The ingredients are pretty simple and can be found in your supermarket.

  • Coconut Cream
  • Fresh Pineapples
  • Pineapple Juice
  • Rum
  • Sugar
  • Ice

These are the only ingredients you will need, shocking right?

Method

You will need a blender and place all you ingredients in the blender.

  • Add around 6 -7 pieces of pineapple which you have chopped up. You can also purchase the pineapples that comes chopped, I found it a lot cheaper to purchase a normal pineapple.
  • Add 1 tablespoon coconut cream.
  • Add 50ml of Rum, we opted for a coconut infused rum, but you can purchase the normal Bacardi rum.
  • 1 teaspoon sugar, the sugar added some sweetness because of all the acidity of the pineapples.
  • 50ml pineapple juice
  • Glass ice

Now you simply just blend away until the ice has completely crushed. This recipe only makes one big glass so you will need to up the measurements if you making more. If you are not an alcohol lover you can simply not add the rum to make a virgin Pina Colada. For decoration you can add a cherry or pineapple slice.

I was really surprised at how simple and easy this recipe is to make. Also couldn’t believe how good it tastes and how on earth restaurant or bar can up their prices on this cocktail.

These are great for party guests or simply a Summer drink. Let me know if you guys will be trying out this recipe and if you would like me to do more?
