Must Read List

Must Read List -1

I’ve been wanting to get back into reading for some time now. I made together a Must Read List I hope to read during the year.

There are so many great options out there and honestly, I don’t know where to start. My husband luckily bought us the entire Harry Potter series which I am definitely going to dig into.

When it comes to reading, I have really slacked. Year after year I have made it one of my goals, but you guys know how life can just get in the way. I find it hard to sit down and get myself lost in a book. I have been wanting to make more time to read even if its just 30 minutes a day before I go to bed or commuting to work.

I’ve made a short list of the books that I would love to get to reading, some I still need to get. For the most part, I will be starting with the Harry Potter series and let you guys know how far along I get to my Must Read List over the next few months.

You

‘Thriller of the year’ Daily.Mail When aspiring writer Guinevere Beck strides into the bookstore where Joe works he is instantly smitten. Beck is everything Joe has ever wanted: tough, razor-smart and sexier than his wildest dreams. He’d kill to have her. Soon Beck can’t resist her feelings for a guy who seems custom made for her. When a string of macabre incidents tears her world apart there is only one person she can turn to. But there’s more to Joe than Beck realises and much more to Beck than her perfect facade. The obsessive relationship quickly spirals into a whirlwind of deadly consequences… A chilling account of unrelenting, terrifying deceit, Caroline Kepnes’ You is a thriller more perversely clever and dangerously twisted than any YOU have ever read.

Girlboss

Sophia Amoruso spent her teens hitchhiking, committing petty theft, and scrounging in dumpsters for leftover bagels. By age twenty-two she had dropped out of school, and was broke, directionless, and checking IDs in the lobby of an art school – a job she’d taken for the health insurance. It was in that lobby that Sophia decided to start selling vintage clothes on eBay. Flash forward ten years to today, and she’s the founder and executive chairman of Nasty Gal, a $250-million-plus fashion retailer with more than four hundred employees. Sophia was never a typical CEO, or a typical anything, and she’s written “#GIRLBOSS” for other girls like her: outsiders (and insiders) seeking a unique path to success, even when that path is windy as all hell and lined with naysayers. “#GIRLBOSS” proves that being successful isn’t about where you went to college or how popular you were in high school. It’s about trusting your instincts and following your gut; knowing which rules to follow and which to break; when to button up and when to let your freak flag fly.

Harry Potter Series

Harry Potter is a series of fantasy novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. The novels chronicle the lives of a young wizard, Harry Potter, and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The main story arc concerns Harry’s struggle against Lord Voldemort, a dark wizard who intends to become immortal, overthrow the wizard governing body known as the Ministry of Magic, and subjugate all wizards and Muggles (non-magical people).

Born A Crime By Trevor Noah

The book details Trevor Noah growing up in post-apartheid South Africa. As the light-skinned product of a white father and a black mother, Noah never fit well into the racial schemes introduced after apartheid. Even under apartheid there was trouble fitting in, because it was a crime for him to be born as a mixed race baby, hence the title of his book.

Me Before You

Me Before You is a romance novel written by Jojo Moyes. The book was first published on 5 January 2012 in the United Kingdom. A sequel titled After You was released 29 September 2015 through Pamela Dorman Books. A second sequel, Still Me, was published in January 2018.
