My First Manicure Experience

I know some of you guys are probably wondering how on earth is it possible? That I have never gotten a manicure before. Yes, I am not ashamed to say I have never had a manicure professionally done before. Like most normal women in South Africa. We just don’t have the money to spend on getting manicures done. It’s shit expensive especially if you want to get gel overlays done. But, for the sake of my curiosity. I finally had my nails done and thought I would share My First Manicure Experience with you guys.

I pretty much felt like an idiot and the lovely lady who did my nails at SkinPhD in Plattekloof was probably laughing at me. Carmen was AMAZING!!

She did such an amazing job, she helped me choose the shades I wanted a more neutral colour, but wanted some bling on my ring finger to add some pizzazz ( do people still use this word?) I didn’t want those whore nails I wanted something simple I can wear every day. Anyway, the entire process probably took 30 minutes! She filed and shaped it so nicely, I had no idea that my nails could actually look so good!

She advised me that the gel overlay which I had done and cost me R350 ( that’s the price of basically having my hair done ) for about 2 – 3 weeks. If you dread doing your nails like I do mainly because I end up having more nail polish on my fingers then my actual nails. I’m so impressed with the job Carmen did! Honestly, I felt like a queen being pampered. I use my hands heavily, so everyday moms or working ladies will definitely pay money to get their nails done because you don’t have to worry about your nail polish chipping off after one day and the constant reapplying can honestly drive you nuts.

My First Manicure Experience -2

I kept checking my nails to make sure that my nail polish didn’t chip and it lasted so long. Depending on how fast your nails grow. You could actually push it to an entire month, in that aspect it is worth it if you really despise doing your own nails.

Would I get my nails done again? Hell yes! I have never felt more beautiful then with my nails looking like a well put together lady. I am not sure if I can personally do it every month – probably not, but if my budget allows me to I would definitely do it again.

Have you had a gel manicure before? Or am I the only person that just experienced it?
