Whilst in lockdown I’ve spent way too much time scrolling through Netflix to find something worthwhile to watch. If you a Netflix enthusiast like myself here are some new shows that New to Netflix this August.
Although, I have been rewatching a few old favourites. I have been craving some new series I can get lost in. Netflix normally releases new shows every month, especially if you like me and end up watching so many of it. I always need new shows to keep myself entertained.
Here’s what you can look forward to from Netflix this August…

Selling Sunset (Season 3)
Reality series is alive and well on Netflix and Selling Sunset has been one of the sleeper hits of the bunch. Following real estate agents, you get to see inside some of the lush homes of LA plus discover how much drama there is in the cutthroat industry.
Season three arrives just a few months after season two hit Netflix.
John Was Trying to Contact Aliens
This documentary short won best short film at Sundance Film Festival in January 2020 and was acquired by Netflix alongside a handful of other short films.
It follows John Shephard, a man who has devoted most of his life to trying to contact aliens.
Lucifer (Season 5)
The first half of the fifth season of Lucifer is arriving on August 21, with the show now taking on an expanded episode count to pack in more action than ever.
Netflix renewed the series for the fifth season of 16 episodes, and while the fifth was initially expected to be the final season, in June, the show was announced to have a sixth season in the works.
The Great Heist
Inspired by the true events, ‘The Great Heist’ follows the assault on the Bank of the Republic, also known as ‘the robbery of the century’ perpetrated in October 1994. A band of thieves stole $33 million and put the whole country upside down.
