Mr Price Home Glam Decor Inspo

Mr Price Home Glam Decor Inspo -1So many changes are currently happening in my life! My fiance and I will finally be getting married the end of September and by next year we will be moving into our own place.

This is happening fast and I am just trying to enjoy the most of it. Been trying to stop buying makeup and rather invest in home decor pieces we will be needing for our home. As usual, I turn to Mr Price for some inspiration and found Mr Price Home Glam Decor Inspo.

Mr Price is not only my go-to store for their trendy fashion pieces, they also have a store for all their home ware and furniture products. Justin and I have mostly been purchasing things from there, it’s more affordable than many other stores.

Velvet and gold seem to be the trend this year and honestly, I couldn’t be happier! I thought I would share an inspiration mood with my favourite picks from the Mr Price Home online store.

Pink Cosmetics + Discount Code

I was sent three products from Pink Cosmetics to try out and they were kind enough to also give me a 10% Discount Code to share with you guys.

Pink Cosmetics is a South African Cruelty-Free Brand and is largely known on Instagram. The Brush Cleaners are probably the most popular I’ve seen online it has always flooded my Instagram.

Here is more about the products I was sent…

White Willow Micellar Water | This Pink Cosmetics Micellar Water is great for a gentle cleanse. This leaves your skin feeling energised and radiant. Also helps with removing dirt and impurities from the skin.

How to use:

Soak a cotton pad with Micellar water and apply to your face as a cleanser or use to remove makeup from your eyes and face. You can reapply until the cotton pad is clean and your face feels cleansed. There is no need to rinse your face after application, but you can lightly dab your skin with a soft cotton cloth to dry.

Facial Mist | The Pink Cosmetics Facial Mist is perfect for radiant looking skin. It nourishes, hydrates the revives the skin so no more tired skin. This is suitable for all skin types and contains no alcohol or sulphate. Also, great to use to refresh your makeup during the day.

Pink Cosmetics + Discount Code -2

Strawberry Champagne Brush Cleaner | An effective way to keep your brushes clean and in mint condition. Probably one of the most popular products from Pink Cosmetics.

How does it work?

Wet your brush or sponge with clean water. Next, wet the top of your cleaner in its container, and swirl the wet brush around on it to activate the cleaning ingredients. Remember, the dirtier your brush, the less it lathers. Rinse and repeat until your brush or sponge is perfectly clean and germ-free. Don’t waste those fabulous bubbles! Make perfect use of them by cleaning your next brush.

Lightly scented, in Strawberry champagne, and topped with a soap strawberry.  Individually handcrafted and free from sulphates, parabens, phthalates, petroleum products and other skin irritants, and can be used daily without harming your brushes.

To get 10% off your order use the code CANDICE when purchasing on the Pink Cosmetics website here. Their products are super affordable and I can tell you know the brush cleaner will definitely be a repurchase for me. I struggle to find products to help clean my brushes correctly.

Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lift And Firm Sculpting Gel

Elizabeth Arden has always been one of my favourite brands of all time. If not my favourite. Their products are always top notch and the most amazing quality. Today I will be talking about the latest addition the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lift And Firm Sculpting Gel.

A while back Elizabeth Arden sent me on of their new product launches the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lift And Firm Sculpting Gel.

Elizabeth Arden describes this product to be a lightweight, invisible gel that helps redefine the look of your natural facial contours. To apply this you need to use the massage roller applicator, which makes skin feel instantly tighter. With continued use, ceramides and a blend of redensifying activators support skin’s natural collagen and elastin for a firmer, toned and more youthful appearance.

Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lift And Firm Sculpting Gel -2

How to use: Turn applicator to ON and gently squeeze to release product. Return to OFF and massage roller in upward, lifting motion along jawline, neck, under cheekbones. Apply in the morning and night after moisturizer. Avoid contact with eyes. If product gets into eyes, rinse thoroughly with water.

One of my favourite ranges from Elizabeth Arden is their Ceramide range specifically the Advanced Ceramide Capsules which I have featured on the blog before.

The Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lift And Firm Sculpting Gel contains;

Acetyl Tripeptide -2 | Which supports collagen and elastin to help firm saggy skin.
Hyaluronic Acid and Commiphora Mukul Extract | To Smooth skin and minimize the look of lines and wrinkles.
Blend of Ceramides 1,3,6 Cholesterol and Phytosphingosine | This is essential lipids naturally found to help strengthen skin’s moisture barrier.

Which so many great benefits you will simply fall in love with this award-winning product. With me reaching 30 my skin is not as firm as it once was. Also when it comes to looking after my skin it has become my number one concern and priority.

Have you tried the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lift And Firm Sculpting Gel before? Would love to know what your thoughts are about it.

How I Edit My Instagram Photos

If you have been following me on Instagram for some time, then you probably noticed that my photography has changed quite a bit. Today’s post will be dedicated to How I Edit My Instagram Photos.

Instagram has consumed me, I am starting to fall back into love with this phone app!

I use to be so obsessed with getting followers and likes on my Instagram profile to a point where it would just consume of everyday thoughts. I also obsessed about how many people followed and unfollowed me. This was not good for me and I finally decided I had enough and just enjoy Instagram again!

I love sharing snippets of my life through photos which is why Instagram has always been my most favourite social media app.

My Editing Process On How I Edit My Instagram Photos

When it comes to taking my photos I take all my photos on my iPhone 8Plus. I have always taken all of my blog photos on Instagram photos from my cell phone. I’ve been loving the results even more since I upgraded my phone back in December. The photos on the iPhone really impressed me, I find it also so much easier to edit all my photos straight after taking them.

Software I Use

For editing software I use Lightroom! I’ve also used VSCO for some time but found that Lightroom gives me the desired look I want for my feed. I also invested in mobile presets which I can easily add to my photos to make them look more cohesive. I use to use Lightroom on my laptop, but with the presets being the mobile option I purchased everything can be done straight from my phone.

Instagram Scheduler

So now that I have taken and edited my photos to what I like them to be. I usually schedule all my Instagram posts well in advance. This way I can plan my feed and make sure that everything flows and I always get my time schedule in point too. There are so many good ones out there. At the moment I am using PREVIEW and LATER both of these are brilliant and totally free!!

That’s it, guys! I find that this process works really well for me and helps me stay organised.

How do you usually edit your Instagram Feed? If you aren’t following then please do so! I’m always looking for new accounts to check out too!

New Flamingo Tangle Teezer

New Flamingo Tangle Teezer -1

I’m totally obsessed with Tangle Teezers and definitely own way too many if I’m being totally honest. I received a cool New Flamingo Tangle Teezer designed by Skinny Dip.

I totally freaked out when I received the brand new flamingo tangle teezer in a press drop.

As mentioned I am totally ashamed to admit that I own quite a number of them. One in my handbag, bedside table, bathroom and my beauty desk. Not to mention the two or so in storage! A girl always has to be prepared and the tangle teezer is my best friend to help maintain my unruly hair.

New Tangle Teezer Styles

The Skinny Dip Flamingo Palm Print Compact Style Tangle Teezer is one of the cutest designed I’ve seen! I really love that Tangle Teezer is constantly coming up with new designs!

New Flamingo Tangle Teezer -2

Next on my bucket list of Tangle Teezers to own is definitely a hello kitty one! I’ve had my eyes set on it for a while now!

I would highly recommend you guys check out the Tangle Teezer website to see other cool designs and they are always coming up with more. Which isn’t always great for my wallet. These are decently priced and won’t break the bank. My favourite one I currently use is their Angle Teezer, it comes with a handle and has a very unique shape. I just enjoy using that because it has a handle and makes blow drying my hair a bit easier. If you are a fan of Tangle Teezer I am sure you are going to seriously be obsessed with the Flamingo print, it’s just too darn cute.

The Tangle Teezer is available at Clicks store at R295!

You guys obsessed with these easy to travel compact stylers as I am? Let me know what is your favourite design and if you like the new flamingo addition?

Avon Launches FAR AWAY REBEL Fragrance

Avon Launches FAR AWAY REBEL Fragrance -1

Avon launches FAR AWAY REBEL fragrance and I am all for it! I have been a fan of Avon fragrances for some time and shared a few on the blog before. Here’s the low down on what you need to know about Avon’s latest fragrance release.

Avon launched the Far Away Rebel Fragrance just this July! The fragrance was developed by perfumer Jean-Marc Chaillan, who said; “I felt inspired by the woman who emanates hints of innocence beneath a layer of audacious passion.”

The Avon Far Away Rebel Fragrance is a combination of creme de cassis and fresh orange blossom with a finish of salted chocolate toffee. The fragrance is described to be naughty and nice!

This fragrance is definitely sweet and consists of cacao and white floral accords that are prominent throughout the fragrance. It’s surprising not an overpowering scent at all which honestly makes me happy. I hate scents that just overpowers the nostrils…

Avon Launches FAR AWAY REBEL Fragrance -2

The message behind the fragrance.

Avon’s Far Away Rebel fragrance is all about breaking the mould and is created for the woman who dares to be fearless and dares to be herself no matter what.

This fragrance is currently at a special price in this months catalogue for only R219.  Which is such an amazing price, it’s rare to find a great fragrance at such an affordable price.

As mentioned I have used many other Avon fragrances before, some, of course, I loved more than others. I can definitely see myself reaching for this fragrance a lot during Spring. It’s a sweet yet refreshing scent. Also, how cool is the purple design? Honestly, it looks a lot more expensive than it actually is!

For more information about Avon’s new Far Away Rebel Fragrance and more products definitely check out Avon’s catalogue here. #FarAwayRebel #AVON

Have you guys tried any Avon fragrances before? Let me know in the comments below would love to know your thoughts on Avon’s latest release too.

Straw Bag Trend

Straw Bag Trend -1

When it comes to the latest fashion trends South Africa seems to always be behind. One fashion trend I am seriously hoping makes its way to South Africa this spring in the Straw Bag Trend.

I have never been much the type of girl that follows the latest fashion trends.

The Straw Bag;

Lately, I have been dabbling more into fashion, as you guys have noticed with the fashion content I have been recently posting. I have been wanting to expand my horizons and try new things!

The straw bag trend has taken the world by storm! These bags are simply stunning and make for the perfect accessory for Spring and Summer. South Africa is currently still in Winter, however, I am prepping for the Spring season ahead and have been wanting a straw bag so badly, let’s hope these South African fashion brands will start stocking them. I particularly love the round straw bag, paired with a cute floral dress will definitely be a staple for me!

There’s just something about the straw bag that appeals to me! It’s simple and compliments any outfit whether you just wearing some casual jeans or a summery dress. I am no professional, but when it comes to what I like I prefer items that are casual and easy to wear.

I have been seeing so many fashion bloggers wearing the straw bag and honestly, I am not ashamed to admit I am super jealous. When it comes to bags I probably have one too many! One for every outfit style right?

What do you guys think about the Straw Bag trend? Let me know in the comments section below. Also, if you are from South Africa, please let me know if you perhaps have seen any stores that stock these straw bags yet?

Essie Winter Collection 2018

Essie Winter Collection 2018 -1

I was totally surprised when I got home and found an Essie Winter Collection of nail polishes waiting for me! I have never really been a fan of Essie after trying one of their nail polishes a few years back.

Oh man, how wrong was I! I probably got a bad one or Essie improved their formula. Essie sent me six different nail polish shades in the Essie Collection I received.

Essie Winter Collection 2018 -2

Essie wanted to warm things up with a lovely winter collection, made up of favourite shades from previous collections. these shades include:

Licorice: a beguiling jet black cream

Bordeaux: a deep red wine

In Stitches: a cheeky blush pink

Chinchilly: a sleek granite grey

Satin Sister: a sleek ebony peacock blue

It’s Genius: violet quartz shimmer polish with beige undertones

Essie Winter Collection 2018 -3

These shades are beautifully curated for the Winter season! The shade of Bordeaux is probably one of my favourite shades to wear during the colder months.

The formula is great – it’s not thick at all and applies really well on my nails, the consistency doesn’t seem to clump up like my other nail polish, and they wear really nicely. I am rather curious and eager to try more Essie nail polishes. I know so many people that love the brand and literally only collect them.

Have you guys tried any of these Essie nail polishes before? Let me know in the comments section below, also I would love to know what is your favourite Essie shade in this year’s Winter Collection?

Self-Conscious -1

I have always been very self-conscious with my body and skin. It’s something that I am still struggling with, but I have been trying my best to overcome it.

Like everything else it takes time. I am learning to feel more comfortable in my body and skin, it has not been an easy road.

My struggles…

Ever since I was merely two years old I suffered from severe eczema, the kind of eczema where I couldn’t walk. My skin was in complete agony… Being that young and having to be hospitalised for my skin disease took quite a toll on my psyche.

As you can imagine growing up with a skin disease, wasn’t easy for me. Kids can be extremely cruel and I was tormented all through my school years. Let’s just say I am so happy I am not in school anymore.

Primary school was hell… Also, I grew up with only one parent who couldn’t afford the type of treatments I needed. Fast forward to the age of 28, I still suffer from eczema and most probably will for the rest of my life.

Getting Over It…

Luckily it’s not as bad. I’ve grown out of it, but oh man, has it done a number on my self-esteem. I still suffer from bad scars that most probably won’t go away. I have never felt comfortable in skirts and shorts, which I still won’t wear out unless I am home.

Going through all that has made me feel extremely bad about myself. As much as my amazing fiancé makes me feel specials and tells me daily how beautiful I am. My scars are skin deep…

I am getting better at how I see myself though, makeup has been a way to make me feel good about myself. I’ve also been going makeup-free more often. I don’t want to rely on makeup to help me feel good about myself. Which is why I decided to go makeup free more often to help myself heal from my insecurities regarding my body and skin.

It feels good having to get this off my chest, it has been amazing writing down how I feel… I am sure many other women have been dealing with their own insecurities which media it’s hard not to feel self-conscious in a world where media celebrates perfection, or at least their idea of perfection. Which honestly disgusts me. Many brands though have been invested in showing diversity which I really admire, it makes us feel so much better than there are others with real struggles.

Maybelline Colossal Big Shot

Maybelline Colossal Big Shot -1

I’ve been using the Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Volume Express Mascara for probably two months now! It has been my new everyday mascara.

Maybelline claims that the Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Mascara is their biggest shot of volume with only using one coat.

Benefits to this mascara are that the big shot brush and wavy bristles get close the root of the lashes. This allows the mascara and to create more volume.

The Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara has always and forever will be my first choice mascara. I just haven’t been able to find a mascara that makes my lashes look that good. However, I do like to try different mascara’s and changing things up. The Maybelline Colossal Big Shot has been my daily mascara for the past few weeks.

I do love the fact that this mascara doesn’t smudge or flake my lashes at all. I find that one coat just isn’t enough to get the kind of volume I go for. I’m not a false lash wearer, so do need my mascara to be extremely volumising.

Usually, I tend to use two or three coats of mascara, and this doesn’t clump my lashes at all… Which I was surprised about because especially with three coats many other mascaras made my lashes all clump up together and that’s not a cute look at all. My lashes were well separated and mascara’s dried really quickly.

I have actually been rather impressed. I always love Maybelline mascaras, in my pinioning Maybelline knows how to make great, affordable mascaras! Will it replace my beloved Lash Sensational? I don’t think so, but it is a great contender, they both are good in their own right. If you are looking for a budget-friendly mascara, that gives you good volume then this is worth checking out.

June Lipstick Of The Month

My June Lipstick Of The Month is so late! I have been having a bit of a writer’s block! You guys, of course, didn’t notice it because I always have at least 5 or more posts scheduled.

The cold weather here in South Africa has gone to my head, making me lazy and the weather has been extremely overcast, leaving me lost without being able to take any blog photos.

I’ve been trying to take photos in bulk, we had a few changes at home and I literally had to move all my makeup in the garage. Which means that my makeup is all stored away!

With Winter here, I have also been wearing makeup a lot less embracing my natural. I have to admit I have never felt so free and self-conscious before! I’ve been trying to invest more in skincare products and getting my skin looking better before the “big day“.

June Lipstick Of The Month -2

June Lipstick Of The Month goes to…

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in the shade Nocturnal Rose. It’s the perfect pinky nude shade and suits my skin tone really well. I did a full review of the new Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks before which you can read here.

This shade has been one of my favourites at the moment, the formula is so creamy and the glide on with ease. Also, they last really well, unfortunately, they are not transfer proof, It’s still a really amazing lipstick! It’s just such an easy to wear lipstick and I have been reaching for it more…

I definitely plan on getting more Color Sensational lipsticks, I am super impressed with the ones I got and definitely feel that it’s worth getting.

What lipstick shade have you been mostly reaching for during the month of June? Let me know in the comments section below!
