Who doesn’t love to get in to new series, personally there’s nothing better than watching some series and not have to go anywhere! I regularly share with you guys Series That I Am Currently Watching and today I thought I would update you all on what I have been watching since my last post I shared.
Inspired by Sophia Amoruso’s best-selling book, this series follows the rise of Amoruso’s multi-million dollar fashion empire, Nasty Gal. Britt Robertson plays the starring role of Sophia, a rebellious, broke anarchist who decides to start selling vintage clothing online. As her passion — and retail fashion empire — begins to grow, Sophia unexpectedly becomes a businesswoman, who starts realize the value (and difficulties) of being the boss of her own life. Alongside the likes of Charlize Theron and Kay Cannon, Sophia Amoruso serves as an executive producer.
I have been obsessed! I just recently started watching this and I can’t get enough of Girl Boss, the sad thing is that there’s only a few episodes out. If you enjoyed the book this is a must see.
Budding entrepreneurs get the chance to bring their dreams to fruition in this reality show from executive producer Mark Burnett. They present their ideas to the sharks in the tank — five titans of industry who made their own dreams a reality and turned their ideas into lucrative empires. The contestants try to convince any one of the sharks to invest money in their idea. When more than one of the sharks decide they want a piece of the action, a bidding war can erupt, driving up the price of the investment.
Shark Tank has about 9 season’s so far, Justin and I only recently came across this reality show, and we are hooked! It’s really interesting to see the ideas people actually come up with.
Based on Charlaine Harris’ book series by the same name, “Midnight, Texas” follows the lives of the inhabitants of a small town where the concept of normal is relative. A haven for vampires, witches, psychics, hit men and others with extraordinary backgrounds, Midnight gives outsiders a place to belong. The town members form a strong and unlikely family as they work together to fend off the pressures of unruly biker gangs, questioning police officers and shades of their own dangerous pasts.
Midnight, Texas only launched this year, there’s just a few episodes – this might not be for everyone, but I am kinda digging the story so far.
Alison Brie stars as Ruth Wilder, an out-of-work actress living in Los Angeles in the ’80s. Wilder finds an unexpected chance at stardom: enter the glitter and spandex-laden world of women’s wrestling, where she must work alongside 12 other Hollywood misfits. Marc Maron plays the role of Sam Sylvia, a washed-up director of “B” movies who tries to lead the group of women to fame. The series is created by Carly Mensch and Liz Flahive, who serve as executive producers with Jenji Kohan and Tara Herrmann.
I am at that point with Netflix where I know it’s going to be good. Another Netflix series that has got me all excited, so far there is only one season and I am already anticipating the next.
There are a few more that I have really been enjoying, I will keep that for another post. What series have you guys been enjoying and what should I be watching?0
